Give me something to watch on Netflix

Ok, I started watching From on yall's recommendation. I'm close to the end of season 3 and I'm losing my patience and frankly, just getting plain exhausted. Seems to be nothing but gore and drama - WAY too much drama. And worse - great mysteries but no answers.

The internet says season 3 starts to provide some answers to the mysteries, but I haven't seen anything yet. Do the last few episodes of season 3 give up any answers? does season 4? I'm not sure I can take another two seasons of drama and whining.

Things are definitely starting to move to an ending. we did got some real answers towards the end of season three, and through the first few episodes of season four I feel like stuff is starting to take shape… Just my opinion though, I could be wronger than the wrongest guy who was ever wrong

You may be right. It feels like some of the season 4 stuff might be getting us there.

I guess I'm the only one here watching the new season of Euphoria, but it has gone in an absolutely mental new direction/s. It's become a kinda ultra-violent Tarantino western show. In one scene Sydney Sweeney is sucking on her big toe for gooner fans. In the next scene Jacob Elordi is getting the shit kicked out of him and his toe cut off (not for the last time) with pruning shears. It's got cowboy pimps on horses in cowboy drag, and afro-ed philosophical killers in seventies leather coats driving vintage muscle cars, and cutting people up and feeding them to the pigs.

It is wild as hell.

We recently got HBO-Max included in our Disney+ Hulu package, so we started watching "Hacks". It's been out for a few years... they're currently on Season 5, we've only watched the first two.

Pretty entertaining generational and fish out of water story mixed with the "ragtag group of..." storyline. Pretty damned good so far. 99% on Rotten Tomatoes if you give a shit about that stuff. :helper:

Well shit... I just found out that Season 5 that's just started dropping last month is going to be the last season.... well at least we should be caught up around the same time as the Series Finale drops.

Maybe, people recommend From just to fuck with you.

The writing on this show is great. Jean Smart gets some absolute zingers.

John Adams was a good series.
Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood too.

John Adams was a good series.
Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood too.

I don’t know which legacy series HBO has removed. It saves them money in royalties and residuals to pull even some popular series. Anyway, they’ve created some great shows over the years.

Some good, some great HBO shows….
Mare Of Eastown
Station Eleven
Big Little Lies
House Of Dragon
The Wire
Game Of Thrones
Succession
The Sapranos
Six Feet Under
Chernobyl
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Larry Sanders Show
The Righteous Gemstones
Eastbound And Down
Silicon Valley
The Leftovers
True Detectives
Rome

It’s a shame that Deadwood was effectively cancelled in 2006 without wrapping up storylines. It still holds the record for most use of the word “cocksucker.”

I thought John Adams was great. I need to rewatch it.

I started watching Hacks. What I saw was entertaining. Somehow, I got sidetracked to other shows.

I have yet to watch Oz, Veep, Barry, Watchmen, Sharp Objects, Band Of Brothers, Angels In America, Olive Kitteridge, Mildred Pierce, The Pacific, nor Boardwalk Empire. But, I’ve read good things about them.

It seems most of these shows beat around the bush way too long to tell the story. Some seem like they make it up as they go.

We watch shows wanting answers. Some shows only give us more questions.

My wife and I don't always jump on first season shows because too often we get wrapped up and then they get cancelled with zero warning or resolution. Sometimes we wait until a series is well received for a couple seasons and then get caught up while waiting for the next anticipated season.

Schitt's Creek and Ted Lasso we binged the first seasons when the second seasons were just launching and stuck with them until the end.

Breaking Bad I started watching around the time everyone was talking about the finale, and now we're watching Hacks and about the time we get to "current" it will likely be reaching the series finale.

If you've never watched "Monarch" I binged all of season One this past winter and right now I'm midway through the second season. Kind of X-files meets Lost in the Godzilla Monsterverse. IE: The stories are more about multiple generations of scientists, explorers, and their families trying to uncover the mysteries of these monsters and the shadow government agency trying to exploit them.

Unfortunately, Westworld is no longer available on HBO. I tell people who’ve never seen it to watch season 1 ONLY. Pretend S1 is a mini series. Ignore S2 through S4, as the storytelling gets progressively worse in those 3. S1 is excellent and it has a solid ending to the narrative that does not need any follow up. AFAIK it’s available to purchase.

I told my wife I hope they start wrapping things up and finish the story. She looked at me and said, "but then it will end". My mother in law said something similar with, "I never want it to end". Which show im talking about isn't important. Apparently, not everyone wants answers. Some are content to watch their favorite characters in a neverending story.

Watched the first episode of a new Netflix show called Legends. It's an undercover drug gang infiltration thing, and very good so far. Little bit like The Wire?
Anyway, acting was great and the plot is suitably stressful. I think Weiners would enjoy it very much,
