Give me something to watch on Netflix

What shows does a Guitar Heel like to watch? I'm guessing we all would like to know. Sorry about addressing you in the third person.

I'm about to dive into Perry Mason season two. Season one was fantastic.
Well, my favorite of 2020 was Fleabag, 2021 was White Lotus, and last year...so many great ones. The Bear, Yellowjackets, but I think that Severance won out. So good.

Yeah, but now he's all set up for a new spy thriller series.
Yeah, I posted that before I actually finished watching it.

"This is preposterously silly. This guy is practically a Bond villain."

"Are they taking the piss because there was so much speculation about Idris playing Bond?"

"Okay, come on, seriously, they're really winding us up."

"Huh. Well, clearly Idris has a new series on the horizon..."

I haven't seen Fleabag, Bear, or Severance. I will look into those. I really enjoyed season 2 of White Lotus. Season 1 as well.
Looking forward to Yellowjackets season 2.

We watched an older (2014) baseball documentary called The Battered Bastards of Baseball.

It's about the independent Portland Mavericks of the Single A Northern League in the 70s.

Its a great story, which I was not familiar with, and very well done.

Was watching Unicorn Town on the flight back to Germany. The headphones were so terrible they hurt my ears so I quit halfway. If anyone is interested in a well made documentary about the German American Football League featuring a friend of mine prominently, check it out somewhere.

I concur, the movie was far from the excellence of the previous "Luther"s. But I was skeptical, after Alice was killed off in the previous "Luther".

Among other things, how did the villian get the money to have a whole crew of hackers? Why was he fixated on destroying John Luther? The reason for 2 prison guards to assist in his escape? Why did Luther leave the DCI by herself, while he explored the house in Norway?

Alice was the best part of Luther.

We're about 80% through "Night Agent" which is a Espionage/Thriller that follows an FBI Agent who gets stuck in a night shift desk job at the White House with an emergency phone that "never rings". Needless to say, when it rings the shit hits the fan.... bombs, assassins, FBI, Secret Service, etc.

So far it gets Five Baimun Thumbs. :baimun::baimun::baimun::baimun::baimun:

Special is on Prime right now. I recommend it. Starring Michael Rappaport.
I also watched The Family last night. It's a knock off of M. Night's The Village. Yes, I just ruined it for you because you would know within 15 minutes anyway.

It really starts to pick up the pace by the middle. I mentioned to my wife that even though we love going to the movies, the nice thing about a tidy 8-10 episode series is the room they give characters to grow and breathe. Too often when you're watching a 90-120 minute thriller, there's only enough time to introduce a handful of characters, so it's too easy to say "Bad guy... Good guy... Bad Guy..."

We learned everything we needed to know about John McClane and Hans Gruber in the first 15 minutes :corksniffer:

Yellowjackets is back, so I'm happy about that.

I also watched the one and only season of a show called Dare Me that came out during covid and which I didn't know existed. I enjoyed it a lot. Any of you folks seen it?

Watching The Fighter right now.

Not that I've ever not loved Amy Adams, but she's fabulous here.

Not sure about the movie as a whole only because watching his family makes me uneasy, since I usually avoid those types. (Self destructive, unreliable, dependency types, not the social class) the acting is good though.
