Duncan's vs Dimarzio

I like Lawrence and Duncan's. For Duncan's I prefer 59's in both positions. I will also use a jazz in the neck position as well as it blends well with the 59. I also use the JB with is a hotter than the 59 with a midrange presence. Great for heavy rock tones but you still have some dynamic control.

I used DiMarzio's in my early years. Used to use the Super Distortion and the Super 2. I like the Super 2's better - less output and brighter sounding.
I did check out some Dimarzio stuff I'm really looking for a single coil now now that will go well with the custom 78's in the middle position

Any thoughts on a single coil middle position pick up for maple neck and Floyd rose

DON'T DO IT
I thinking bout not doing it, maybe go with this

Well I went with these
Seymour Duncan Custom 78's set

No middle pickup I don't really want it
Now I have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to be made and shipped

i have that switching system in my PRS and Ibanez. pull changes each pickup to parallel instead of split. this keeps everything noise free while providing a brighter, cleaner option.
That's an option this is pretty new to me, I'll have yo look for the diagram

What kind and gauge wire do I need to use

You don't need any special stuff, just grab a spool of whatever single wire from radio shack.

I also recommend wiring in series/parallel. You get a close appropriation to a single with no 60 cycle hum. The wiring on the push pull is slightly more complicated, but the specs should be on the SD site.

"This pickup should really not be associated with any specific artist."

In other words, we don't want Eddie to sue. :embarrassed:

Has anyone tried the dimarzio red velvet single in the bridge of a strat. Is it really tele(ish)? And yes, I know about the differences in build. I want it in a hardtail strat.
