My daughter with our new (~10 yo) cat, Pearl. We adopted her (the cat - not the daughter, that is) from the local shelter, where she'd been after being rescued from a home where she was malnourished, neglected, and covered in sores. For the first ten days or so we had her she wouldn't leave my music room, but now has integrated herself nicely into the family. We brought her for a vet visit yesterday, and as you can see from this picture (taken a couple of hours later) has forgiven us for the indignity...
