Carvin guitars are no more?!?

Sorry, that was unclear. I just mean that changing the name on an established product, such as the guitars, is a dumb move.

I'm betting that they didn't change it just for the hell of it... there's probably something contractual going on where the Kiesel family is retaining the guitar company but the audio portion has been picked up by someone else or vice versa.

In 1983 I ordered a DC100, the plainest guitar they made. Played it a lot for 10 yrs or so. Then I got heavily into bluegrass and permanent loaned it to a friend who was instrumental in teaching me how to play. A few years ago he passed away and I got the guitar back from his dad. It's a fantastic instrument. The most versatile instrument I've owned until I built my tele with the Wylde rails. It's never so much as had a truss rod adj. solid as a rock. The combination of the M22 buckers, 24.75 scale, ebony board and the all hard rock maple construction make for a bright guitar, almost tele like. But roll the tone off a bit and you got LP / SG tones.
The main prob with Carvin is people order so many crazy colors and options they usually turn out ugly as sin.
Stick with the basics and you get a great instrument you won't tire of.
I can't get photobucket to load right now, but I've posted it many times.
It's starting to get some significant fret wear now so I don't play it much but it's still my best guitar. Glad it seems this is only a name change/reorganization. I'm thinking about ordering a neck from them soon.
