I never wear shorts in public. I wish I could, but no mater how much time I spend in the backyard out in the sun, I always look like a guy wearing full length white socks.

Yeah, I don't always sport that look. I usually go for the really low cut or not at all. But was in a hurry between the Families rally and getting down to twin falls in time to pick up my amp, so just rolled with it. Nice look with the white legs, huh? I have always had pretty white legs, and I wear shorts a lot. They just never seem to get tan. But, given I already get stuff frozen off other parts of my body (face and top of my head) I do not see the need to tan.

Truth be known, I wore those Costco shorts (with a bike chamois underneath) on a MTB ride, then did the Families Rally, then hustled home to grab stuff and change out of the chamois, and left everything else on to hustle down to the electronics store before it closed. The NY shirt was not worn cycling.

How do we feel about the full length cargo trouser (pants)? I've been a 501's wearer my entire adult life but with the necessity to carry a mask around it's now getting too much for jeans pockets. Wallet, phone, keys and headphones have filled them up! So I was thinking of the switch. I'd rather that than carry a fucking bag everywhere.

What say you Wieners? Cool cat or dad rocker?

Still wearing them, too. I haven't dressed to attract the opposite sex for over 40 years, so the perceived coolness of attire is my last consideration. Comfort is king...

I have one of those (or something very similar) at a friend's house in Wisconsin for when I go back and visit (at least twice a year in pre-Covid days). It makes a killer fly-fishing vest.
 
i've got plenty of cargo shorts and a couple pair of cargo pants. the pants are mostly for cooler weather times.
they're comfortable and functional and i don't care about fashion.
 
I have thrown out all of my cargo style shorts over the years. I have one pair of semi-baggy tan pants with a canvas military style belt, but it only has normal pockets.
