Achtung! Bourbon.

I walked back into my office this afternoon and saw that one of my colleagues in Iowa sent me one of his local Bourbons. I'm skeptical since it's a relatively new distillery, but I don't think this guy would steer me wrong.

Well, if you don't like it, pour it into an old empty bottle of something else and give it to unwanted guests, like drummers. Add urine for effect.

I have not figured out what the big deal is. This bourbon stuff is nasty. It's way too sweet.

I think you're supposed to cut that one with flour, eggs, sugar, and butter.

Not a bad idea. Unfortunately I already have 4 bottles for that exact purpose. :embarrassed:

I'm thinking about running to the store and getting some PBRs. I wish I had some bourbon :(

just bought a pint of Woodford Reserve to try it out. gonna be going down the kitchen sink.

I've had mixed results with Woodford. I really liked the first bottle I bought. The second bottle and a third I got for my father-in-law I really disliked and I've had it since and didn't like it then either.

i should just stop trying stuff and stick to the tried and true....Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare (when i can find it) and Eljah Craig. good results every time.

No bourbon here tonight. Beer. And some damn good beer. We went "craft beer" shopping a week or so ago and got a six pack each. We ended up only drinking 3 each, so we had to finish it tonight before we go back to WV for the holiday.

I had:
La Trappe Quadrupel (Netherlands)
Trappistes Rochefort 10 (Belgium)
and North Coast Brewing Co. Old Rasputin (USA)

The first two were my fist time, the OR is one of my favorites (maybe my all time favorite).

Let it sit for a while.

I had a bottle for quite a long time and when I finally finished it, I ran out and got another because I was enjoying it so much.

First shot out of the new bottle: blech.

There's a bottle of something sitting under the Christmas tree for me, but I don't know if I can wait that long. I might have to pick something up on the way home tonight.

It's really cruel to wrap something like that and make me look at it for a week.
