don't cry, emo guy. the plain 3rd has more tension on it. it's actually the thickest string on the guitar. wound thirds have an incredibly skinny core, and break easily.
That guitar I really dig...I loves me some natural mahogany...even when that mahogany is a prime example of how phiilipine Luan is now considered mahogany...
Congrats! It's pretty sweet looking. I am not a giant fan of the SE series. They are certainly well made, but they feel sort of lifeless to me. Best I can explain it. Something about them just doesnt feel right, even though they are well-built and they play OK. That is only based on playing a few though. I like them enough I would keep giving them a chance. Only reason I mention this is because you almost seem like you may feel the same way about it in the "not so good" section, wondering if I am not the only one that likes them but cant bring myself to love them.

Congrats!
I just bought a PRS SE singlecut myself. The salesman mentioned the Termonti to me since they are essentially the same guitar with different aesthetics, but they did not have one in stock and I am not buying a new guitar - especially an SE, without playing it first. The three singlecuts I played there were all a bit different.
And I completely agree with your evaluation of the pickups. That slightly more treblely tone is one of the things I liked about the guitar.
hey look everybody! it's debbie downer!
maybe the guitar just needs a new set of strings and a setup?
