I was just recently told that they weren't actually gay, so I guess they're sort of still being talked about, but only by people who hadn't actually thought about/talked about them in 20 years

Funny, I was just thinking about them at the weekend. I was thinking about The Smiths 'How Soon is Now?' and remembered that t.A.T.u. covered it. Hadn't thought of them in years.

Aren’t they doing an anniversary tour that is being cross promoted with Justin’s social media stuff?

Which kind of bleeds into the bigger issue of maybe people aren’t talking about bands in general because that’s just not where culture/the discourse is. Maybe it’s like “what happened to all the cool young people on Facebook?”
