Backing Track Jam!

I might take a shot at that one....

I hear a Funkadelic, Hendrix inspired, OD drenched lead line on top of that.....

Or something Prince-ish....

Too bad I can't pull either of those off.... :quag:

You could use F# Mixolydian, F# Blues, F# Minor Pentatonic, F# Major Pentatonic and even try F# Dorian.

You can also trying to superimpose the following arpeggios over the F#7 chord:

A#m7b5 ( A# C# E G ) - Bbm7b5 would be easier to think but A# is actually the 3rd in F# so it keeps it all straight....

C#m9 (C# E G# B D#)

E major 7 (E G# B D#)

So what modes would you use for that track F# mixolydian?

I just screw around on the guitar until I find a scale I like. My 'comfort zone' is usually the minor pentatonic scale though....

Here is what great funk solos can be....

The late great Eddie Hazel....

I played with the track a bit last night, ended up in a F#m blues/dorian hybrid thingy and some A major thrown in, I didn't like the outcome too much biggrin

Even though the A major has the same notes as F# natural minor if you are thinking A major when you play your resolutions probably won't work out so well....
