I missed out on grunge entirely, so I subsequently never explored the headwaters/tributaries. I always had a hard time making sense of anything sludgy, so Pavement was more interesting to me, once I revisited the era a decade later.
Are they not forefathers and offshoots of grunge? I'm pretty sure I adequately confessed my ignorance, but it is my understanding that both of these bands got mainstream attention as a result of being swept up in the grunge/alternative airstream.Grunge? Did you mean to post this in the STP thread?
