Further, in order for a swamp cooler to work properly you need ventilation -- a window or a door cracked is optimal. The outside air with zero humidity has to mix with the super moist air from the cooler.
As you say, this is true for newer homes and applications. However, in this state swamp coolers outnumber alternate methods by an enormous margin. And guess what I have?
I'll be sure to mention to my landlord that the swamp cooler he installed three months ago isn't trendy enough.![]()
