'70s Les Paul Custom Project

I can't wait to see how it turns out. Greg is/was a regular over at the Hamer Fan Club when I was on that forum a lot. I've talked to him on the phone a couple of times and gotten great advice from him on some deals and some repairs. Your LP is in great hands over there.

Somewhere in the back of my head I knew BCR is in Lemoyne...I would guess then that is was there when I lived in Harrisburg in the mid '90's. I used to walk across the bridge and hit Triple R Guitars and couple of others others all withing a block or so of each other.

Yeah there used to be Wray's, Triple R, BCR and Players Exchange. Wray's moved and is under different ownership, Players Exchange is still open but very little inventory and Triple R is closed. There is an amplifier repair shop in the back of the old Triple R store called Vukmanic Amps. I haven't been in there yet...apparently he will make custom amps.

Just for the record... I never owned this piece. I have done awful things to Les Pauls but I would never disrespect a guitar with a KAHLER trem.

I'd get an old stoptail Floyd Rose if I was going to do anything.

MaziBee had one of these on one of his guitars.

the guitar arrived safe and sound yesterday afternoon. hoping to hear back from Greg on his initial assessment and a final estimate (now that the guitar is in-hand).

The scariest part of that for me is the weakening of a already weak headstock neck joint that has been done

the neck is maple with a volute. The routing is actually very shallow and appears to be mostly in the overlay material. Please don't be scared.
