Question: Why do oasis get so much hate in the US?

And say what you will about his playing but Noel had some amazing guitar tones.

I never noticed that Americans don’t like Oasis. Every generation of young guitar players learns to play those songs with basic chord arrangements because teenage girls still love hearing them.

I don't think anyone ever thinks about Oasis, apart from Anglophiles who have some chip on their shoulder because of some rivalry Oasis was engaged in. For the rest of us, they're about twice as relevant as Chumbawumba. Not a one hit wonder, but a band that had a few hits 20-30 years ago.

Other than the song wonderwall, I don’t see them getting a lot of hate. While very much of the time, their stuff has aged better than a lot of their contemporaries. I’ve always been a fan, but then again insufferable brothers don’t bother me. I also liked the Black Crowes.

I mean.... they're not Nickleback. :helper:

Truthfully, other than Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall, they don't get that much air play here.

I have always been a fan.

I really like Noel's albums since he left Oasis as well (Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds), and Liam has had a few strong singles as well. As for the brothers, neither are saints, but if I had Liam for a brother fights would have broken out.

I think the secret to their mainstream appeal boiled down to songs anyone could sing along to.

their musical stylings and their look were so blatantly derivative, it made their arrogance and shit attitude laughable and unappealing.

that said I enjoyed most of their stuff when one or more jerkoffs wasn’t singing along (unless it was me). I just thought they were assholes doing bubble gum pop with cool sounding guitars.

Both of the Gallaghers are absolute bellends.
As if that's not bad enough, they're Manchester City supporters.
Noel has written a couple of decent tunes to be fair.

I'll at least give them that they supported City way back when before the money came in.
