Spinal Tap II

From the article,

Reiner tells Deadline. “For so many years, we said, ‘nah.’ It wasn’t until we came up with the right idea how to do this. You don’t want to just do it, to do it. You want to honor the first one and push it a little further with the story.”

I'm skeptical, but we'll see. Hollywood has botched many a sequel.

I have faith in Reiner and the original cast. They are still popping out great movies every few years.

I would like for this to not be terrible. I feel exactly the same way about The Kids in the Hall stuff that's dropping today. Fingers crossed on both fronts.

It would be great if the entire film is just them not playing shows. Somebody needs open heart surgery, somebody ODs on fentanyl, somebody’s wife/manager hates the singer, someone says something offensive on twitter, etc..

So many classic moments in the original. It really captured the times well. I love when Howard Hessman told them "I can't talk right now. I have to wait for the limo in the lobby." What a great blow off!

It's gonna suck.
Even if it doesn't out-and-out suck, it won't be the original. So it'll suck by comparison.

I disagree. I think it at least has the chance to be good.

Everything these guys have done has been good. This isn't Broken Lizard. This isn't, well, let's parlay super troopers into 10 other shit films. Best in Show, A mighty Wind, down the list. All great.

Also, I've seen them live in the last decade, and they were great then.

Defense rests.

:)

Club Dread is fantastic.
