Special Edition Blacktop HH Jazzmaster Electric Guitar Black with Stripe - Today's Price...

I thought about this one for a minute, until i realized I could buy a used Squier JM and put my choice of pickups in it and have the correct trem placement for a couple bucks more.

How is the trem placement on this one different?

How is the trem placement on this one different?

It's moved up towards the bridge to increase break angle and put more force on the bridge to keep the strings from popping out if you don't know how to set up a Jazzmaster. It also reduces the cool funky overtones that's part of the JM sound.

I bought one -- we'll see how it goes.

I also bought one.

I plan to take the birdseye maple neck/fretboard from my quilty Warmoth, and put it on this, if it fits without modifying anything. I haven't played the quilty Warmoth in years, so I think this is a win/win.

Plus, the Warmoth neck already has an LSR roller nut and locking tuners, 1 11/16" nut, compound radius fretboard, and Wolfgang back shape.

And it's a birdseye maple fretboard.

That looks cool. But with my new HH strat, when/if I get a jazzmaster, it will have the traditional pickups of some variety. That one that @Kerouac posted yesterday would be more like it. Or a J.Mascis.

Yes, had that deal been around, I might have used that to mod with my Dimarzios instead of the Blacktop. But I am happy with the blacktop.
