What was the best day of your life? (Not counting the gimmes)

Gimmes include birth of child, wedding day, etc. though share those too. Aside from those what was the best day of your life?

So far, the first thing that come to mind is the day that I got my offer letter for the job that I have now.
That seems a bit shallow, but there's more to it than money, success, etc. I'm not really a type A, look at my job, kind of person. Quite the opposite.

When I got it, it was a win for a lot of people and that's what was/is important to me.
My parents that raised me and gave me the opportunity to go to college.
My brother who was then my mentor.
My wife who held down the fort while I was still in school and in the early years of my career.
Our kids that put up with both parents working, not that that stopped right away but schedules changed a bit to make things easier.

summer after my first year in college, i had a 4 way with some really cool gal pals from high school that lasted all day and into the evening. after we parted ways, i stopped by a convenience store to pick up some stuff to take to a party. an old friend was working the cash register and just told me to take everything (he was pissed at his boss)...case of beer and a pile of junk food. score. from there, i went to the party where we watched a pay per view event. i can't recall if it was boxing or MMA.

damn right it was a good day

The day I was diagnosed with chronic depression.

That led to my getting medication and therapy. That made me more of a person Carol could love. That led me to go to college, which led to the jobs I have that I love. It also affected the way I write and perform. All because of a day that, at the time, I thought was the worst day of my life.

Hmm. I think I have had lots of great days. One that always comes to mind is my 7th birthday, when I received my sparkly blue Schwinn Sting Ray, and my Grandpa taught me to ride it that day. My first bike. I never had training wheels. It was a great day.

Not mine. Just an image I found online of a '69 with the seat I had.

That's a pretty inspiring story, but it doesn't beat an all-day four way with gal pals.

The day my divorce was official. It was a long hard road getting there but it was good to be done.

Joint custody, no child support or alimony. Gave the cunt a high five and told her glad that shits over. If she wanted to make her "marriage" official to her new husband/baby daddy she didn't even have to leave the court house.

May 24, 1997. It was the first day of the first touring Ozzfest, so that was literally the show that kicked off the touring metal festival phenomenon. None of my close friends went, but I bumped into some other kids I knew at the show. We spent the day smoking weed and rocking out. The bands were all just wandering around the amphitheater so we got to hang out with some of them. Ozzy could still stand up straight and sing, so his set and Black Sabbath’s were great. We ran out of weed while watching Beavis and Butthead on the jumbotron—that was how Ozzy warmed up the crowd. A guy next to us removed his wooden leg and pulled out a bag that must have had three ounces of fine bud—literally the whole damned flowers, it wasn’t even cut up. I got so high I was seeing shapes in the laser show and Black Sabbath looked like they were fifty feet tall.
