Ronnie? I once read an interview with him in Guitar Player magazine when I was a teenager. He said if you can't play a guitar line/riff clean, then practice it slow without mistakes and slowly speed it up until you can play it clean. That always stuck with me. Of course that was pre EVH before guitar players were mostly doing pull offs and hammer ons. Just clean leads, one pick stroke per fingered note. Like jazz.

They sound like a heavy Dishwalla to me. The way the bass is out front and the guitars hang back during the verse. The singer also has some stretches where he sounds like their singer too. It was pretty cool.
