I hear that. Some of the huge ones have a lot of duplication on them. I could have done with the smaller-set version in those cases, but there is always someone on the music forums saying OMG YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS IF YOU'RE A DYLAN FAN!!!
This one is just 3 discs (I don't know if there is a super-deluxe 20-disc version) and is a good one to pull the trigger on IMO. Although even here, some of the material with Johnny Cash is rehearsal goofing around that is more for historical interest than just digging the music.
