I am listening to a Jackson Browne retrospective set. There is some damn good music there.

So many great songs. And david Lindley is one of the great sidemen.

Whoever edited this video condensed all of Taxi Driver and kept it compelling, with one of my favorite songs of all time.

His recent song "Human Touch" (from the 5B soundtrack) this year is one of his saddest songs. But sounds like it could have been written in the seventies.

That's really the first song I learned for guitar.

I used to like some other Pink Floyd stuff, but I just have gotten bored with it. Like I'm like 100% done with almost all classic rock radio.

I can dig that sentiment. I don't hear classic rock radio where I live (red China) so if anything if I am suddenly exposed to, I dunno, Cheap Trick's 'I want you to want me' (to give a recent example) I pretty much start dancing in the street. True story.

'Lucifer Sam' is catchy as hell.

That's a banger!
Her last two albums are pretty much wall to wall bangers.

Problem is she doesn't really sell well so you never hear about her much anymore. And she mainly relies on a cult following.

The upside is you get these high energy shows at fairly small venues.

Oh shit! If I was there I would be dancing my ass off. Those lame-os in the crowd don't know how good they got it.

That's nothign compared to Grimes' feud with Zola Jesus who called her "the voice of silicon fascist privilege."

I'm def Team Zola. Because she is BFFs with ionnalee now. And Grimes is BFFs... with Elon Musk.

Though I liked Visions and Art Angels from Grimes, I became suspicious of her when she started taking her ideas from Eliezer Yudkowsky who is hilariously neckbeard-y tech geek cult leader. Namely that 'roko's basilisk' shit where you have to build Skynet or skynet will kill you in the future for not helping build it. Which has been her excuse for accelerationist nonsense that she just happened to pick up when she started dating a billionaire with that as his own personal interest.

Then again I like Poppy and her boyfriend is also problematic.

Haha! I was reading your post and then you addressed the Poppy issue at the end. :)

Grimes can piss off, but I do like her nerdy decision to release an album built around the conceit of Frank Herbert's Dune.

One of the albums of 2019 for me.

the RIFFS! :headbang::jam::jam:

Well that's my weekend taken up. And good!

Goddamn, Darkthrone have been hitting it out of the park with the most recent albums. I think I could possibly put that on the stereo in a bar and people would dig - or maybe accept - it. I would be up dancing my ass off to it on purpose, which I could not do to Transivanian Hunger.

It's kinda Motorhead. :embarrassed:
