What are in your opinion, your thoughts, your beliefs the best three-album runs ever?

B.B. King - Live and Well, Completely Well, Indianola, Mississippi Seeds...

Drive By Truckers - Decoration Day, The Dirty South, A Blessing and a Curse...

Gov't Mule - Gov't Mule, Dose, Life Before Insanity...

Hendrix's first 3.
VanHalen's first 3
Pantera starting with Cowboys from Hell
Black Berry Smoke: Little Piece of Dixie, The Whippoorwill, Holding All the Roses
Texas Hippie Coalition: Rollin', Peacemaker, Ride On
Muddy Waters: Hard Again, I'm Ready, King Bee

I just assumed that reading/grammar comprehension would be important for the gig.
It is, somewhat. Just joking around with common usage.

EDIT: and because "fucking" can be a verb, I think the joke works. There is a difference between an exercise break, which is a break from the activity, and a lunch break, during which people usually eat lunch rather than take a break from it.

But I don't claim to be that skilled a grammarian. It has been many years since I diagrammed sentences.

Johnny Cash had an incredible 5 album run with American Recordings and Rick Rubin...

Waylon Jennings had a strong run through most of the 70s...

The Who- Live At Leeds, Who's Next, Quadrophenia, Who By Numbers

Neil Young- On The Beach, Tonight's The Night, Zuma

Husker Du- Zen Arcade, New Day Rising, Flip Your Wig

Dinosaur, Jr- Dinosaur, You're Living All Over Me, Bug

Matthew Sweet- Girlfriend, Altered Beast, 100% Fun

Steve Earle- Train a Comin', I Feel Alright, El Corazon

And of course...

Can't decide on one, here are some that come to mind:

Gorguts - Obscura, From Wisdom to Hate, Colored Sands (any run from the first 5 will probably do)
Kaveret ("known" abroad as Poogy) - Poogy Tales, Poogy in a Pita, Crowded in the Ear
Sadist - Sadist, Season in Silence, Hyaena
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence, Elements, Jupiter (though it might be argued that a 15 year break doesn't count as a run)

Hemispheres
Permanent Waves
Moving Pictures
No love for 2112 and A Farewell to Kings?
I'd put those if I heard Hemispheres enough to be sure (I did not listen to Permanent Waves yet)

I did a thread like this a few years ago, but I'll throw in a few here:

The Band:
- Music from Big Pink
- The Band
- Stage Fright

Living Colour:
- Vivid
- Time's Up
- Stain

Big Head Todd and the Monsters:
- Sister Sweetly
- Strategem
- Beautiful World

That'll do for now. Wait!

Toad the Wet Sprocket:
- fear
- Dulcenia
- Coil

Nickel Creek:
- Nickel Creek
- This Side
- Why Should the Fire Die?

With NC you can take the first or second grouping of three and not go wrong...this four albums are just phenomenal.

Lot's of good choices :thu:. I'll throw in

Tool - Aenima, Lateralus, 10000 Days
Muse - Origin Of Symemmtry, Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine, Evil Empire, The Battle Of Los Angeles

SRV: Texas Flood, Couldn't Stand the Weather, Soul to Soul, Live Alive, In Step.

Steely Dan: Pretzel Logic, Katy Lied, The Royal Scam, Aja

Miles Davis: Porgy and Bess, Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain

Also Miles Davis: Workin', Relaxin', Steamin', and Cookin' (all of these albums came out of the same two recording sessions and their names all end with "with the Miles Davis Quintet")

BB King: Live at the Regal, Confessin' the Blues, Blues on top of Blues

Allmans: Idlewild South, Live at the FIllmore, Eat a Peach, Brothers and Sisters
