Seriously though, that was the old me. I bought a 20 pack of Schneider K20 in Black medium. So far I'm very happy, they write well and last long. Using the same type of pen also keeps me from accidently ripping others off and replacing my own.

If I do lose one, like I did for the first time in two months this morning, they only cost me 11€ for 20.

I had an expensive one that I lost once, thought I'd take better care of it. Never again.

From 84' up until the late 90s' USDA used standard issue retractable black ballpoints like these from the GSA catalog.
My office would get several boxes of them per year.
It was my go to pen until GSA stopped stocking them for cheaper ballpoints and sharpie types with the cap.
