Vaccine thread

Had my 2nd Pfizer shot 11 days ago. I felt GREAT the rest of the day, for some reason.
Did you actually have COVID before? I've heard that even if you've had it quite a while ago getting the vaccine might knock out some lingering effects that your system hasn't gotten on its own.

Not to my knowledge, but I've had underlying issues for several years, and the treatment was quite similar to the current vaccine, so I think my body simply recognized it.

Got my first Moderna last week. Other than some slight fatigue, minor headache and sore arm, no major issues. Second is scheduled for 4/28. Looking forward to being able to get back to normal-ish.

Sore injection site from both shots. The second Pfizer shot had me feeling like shit the next day, fatigue and body aches. I was fine the day after that.

My age group is not due their vaccinations for another few months. Can't wait for it to be over with
That's cuz you're in Euro, all that free socialist healthcar :cop: over here in'mericuh we're getting our shots (but if you don't have healthcare and you get a reaction then your screwed because they make you basically sign a waiver...yea 'mericuh)

I had my second Pfizer dose last Monday. It turned me into a newt!

Got my first dose of the Pfizer on Friday afternoon. Injection site was a little sore on Saturday morning but that was gone pretty quickly.

My 91 year old gran got her 2nd shot last week so I'm really happy about that.

I get my 2nd 2 weeks on Thursday. Was hunky dory after the first jab so hoping the second is as easy.

Got my first Pfizer shot Thursday, April Fools Day (at least I think it was the vaccine). Had a sore arm for 24 hours or so, not bad, and no other symptoms. Second shot is the 22nd.

I got J&J 3/14. Day after I had some body aches but I am constantly dehydrated so it went away. Day 2, felt great. Day 3, awful. Really bad body aches all day. Since then, fine.
Wife got second Moderna 4/2. She was tired for the next day but fine after.

Told my story over in the Political Forum but I'll provide a short summary for those who dont tread there.
Last Monday 8:30am-1st Moderna shot at the county health department.
8:31- sat down in chair for the mandatory waiting period.
8;32-my tongue is tingling
8:34-lips and tongue becoming numb, feeling a lump in my throat.
8:35 to 8:36-trying to decide if this is all in my head or something serious is really happening.
8:37-raise my hand to get nurses attention
8:38-nurse comes over and I relate my symptoms
8:39-nurse jumps into action and calls for medications and heart rate, oxygen, and blood pressure monitors. Puts oxygen mask on my face.
8:40-8:45-3 shots of epiphedrine and a big shot of benedryl, EMTs and ambulance called.
8:45-9-chatted with nurses, symptoms still there but no longer getting worse.
9:30-12:30-Emergency room. Fluids IV w some other benedryl type drug in it, until symptoms totally subside. Heart rate and oxygen never got out of normal but my blood pressure went sky high. Given prescription for a 1 week prednisone pack in case reaction might re-occur, discharged.
Next day-follow up exam w family Dr.
All last week-roided up and brain fried, but other wise ok. Blood pressure slowly returning to normal.
It was a total surprise. In the last year Ive had flu, pheumonia, and shingles vaccines with no issues. I have a shellfish allergy, but there's nothing in the formulation that includes any of that.

Bottom line medical consensus from all the medical professionals, health dept nurses, EMTs, EMR Drs and nurses, & family Dr. :
"No more vaccines for you! Anaphalaxis is too dangerous to knowingly induce. Mask up, keep distancing and washing hands, and hope everybody else gets vaccinated. Hopefully you got some immunity from just one shot".

Odds of this happening is about 2.5 in a million. Lucky me.

I am extra tired this morning. But that might just be because the kids were being shits yesterday so I took too many tranquilizers.

Wow! Glad they got a handle on that as fast as they did!

I went to a drive through clinic. After the shot we pulled into a parking lot to wait for 15 minutes. I waited. A fair number of the people who got the shot after me pulled in and left within 2-3 minutes.

All the medical personal were great. I was fortunate to get an apt at the health dept. I dont want to think how it might have turned out at the friggin Walmart.

Had my first Pfizer March 23rd. Arm hurt like hell for a couple days, couldn't sleep on my left side. Had a weird hot flash about 5 minutes after the shot, but it passed quickly. Get my second shot Weds the 14th, and my daughter gets her first. Mrs Aahzz got her first in early April. My son really really wants his, but he doesn't qualify as yet - rumor has it Kentucky will open to everyone next week.
