This may be our biggest stage yet...

As you can imagine, there is a Facebook shitstorm over this. The promoter is blaming the power generator. He's having a tough go of it because there were bands playing and they pulled the plug on em mid song.

They had everything in place, the venue was real; they had security, vendors, parking, porta potties, etc... The planning for the local/regional acts was bad, but whatever.

The two local bands that stuck it out are really good people and I hope they get some good karma their way for their efforts.
Did the big acts give any reason for pulling out? I would think there would be a bigger shitstorm over that...how many actually showed? Just Vince Neill?

Slaughter was there (including Mark, I believe). Apparently Slaughter minus Mark Slaughter is Neil's band. Vince Neil never showed up. The guys doing the sound check were Neil's band, minus Neil. They were really good, and really loud.

There is a screenshot on Facebook of a guy's conversation with Mark Slaughter which indicates it was a money issue. It's in the Facebook posts/comments for Shrinedom.

Then Slaughter performed, or did he refuse to go on?

The whole thing sounds really shady either way...

Slaughter did not perform, he left. No "big name" acts played.

Three regional acts performed on the trailer in the morning.

One of the local bands (mind trap) got up on the big stage and started performing - they got the power pulled on their third song. The stage crew then packed up the big stage. I wasn't there for this, I'm just relaying what I heard. I also heard they were tearing it up - they're a good band, so I don't doubt it.

My drummer called me from the house at the venue to see if I could get the other guys together and back there so we could play. I couldn't get ahold of the singer/other guitarist so we weren't able to help out.

Mind trap and Raized on Radio (another local band) both played on the trailer for the remainder (and my understanding is they played for free)'in an attempt to give the people who paid to get in there something for their efforts.

You know you've made it when you finally get to play on a flatbed trailer.

Been there. Got the shit shocked out of me to boot. Wish it would've gone better my friend. At least you're still working at it. I can't say the same.

Yeah, I've done the flatbed before. Never played on a trailer built for gardening equipment though, lol.

I'm just having fun playing music with friends. No dreams other than having fun and keep playing. Would have liked to play on that big stage though! That was a serious sound system.

Too bad it turned out like it did. It had a lot of potential but poor management (as always) ruined it for everyone.
The one thing I learned from all this: from the bottom to the top of the music biz, someone is always stiffing the bands. Guess some things never change.
