I did a Boston butt yesterday. It was probably not as good as your over night brisket cook, but at 8 hours it was pretty tasty.
If you think that is good, buy a bone in shoulder and give it an overnighter. If you can pull the bones out it's done. All the silver skins and joint materials will have cooked into gelatin. Pull it apart, and add a little rub at the end.
