There is reason to be optimistic about the Astros. Let's see how the pitching staff can do this year - I'm pretty sure the hitters will score their share of runs.

Real sports are back!

Cautious optimism on my part towards the Rockies this year. they have some good pieces in place and some good pitching. But too many spring injuries are worrying me a bit. And a lot of young pitching. Maybe next year they are a playoff threat, but at least there is hope after a long dark era.

I swear I read this exact post from Dave every year about this time.

Nah. Last year he was down on the team. I don't think they can compete in the West. They may improve their record some, but it's gonna be another year of futility. I'm a Mets fan, I've seen enough of them. :embarrassed:

My brother-in-law just started working for the SF Deltas. I'm not sure who their MLS affiliate is though.

None. They are an NASL team and not affiliated with USL (San Jose Earthquakes have a USL affiliate in Reno). I have fears that the Delta will be short-lived: all of the other teams are east-coast with the exception of Edmonton. I assume travel costs will be catastrophic...

FYI, I worked for the Earthquakes from 1996-2015.

Astros prevail 3-0! Great outing by Keuchel, with three great defensive plays in addition to fine pitching.

Mets seem to not have learned anything from last year about how to hit starting pitching. Teheran was spectacular.

I was glad to see huge cheers for Dickey & Colon. I'm not looking forward to the Mets facing them this year.
