I didn't have a chance to post it last night and don't have the time to look it up right now... Gotta get to work...

But... Apparently Rush Limbaugh, that fat fucking pillhead, is trying to say that Obama knew all about the whole Trump/Ruskie thing and it's his fault. WTF?

Trump tried the same thing during the debates with Hilary - he basically said "Yeah, I profited from the housing collapse and didn't pay taxes like a probably should, but people like you let me get away with it."

The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is an independent agency of the United States government created by the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). The Commission serves as a national clearinghouse and resource of information regarding election administration. It is charged with administering payments to states and developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, and accrediting voting system test laboratories and certifying voting equipment. It is also charged with developing and maintaining a national mail voter registration form.

On February 7, 2017, the GOP shut it down with a 6-3 vote along party lines.

I think the jury is still out on this one. On the surface it looks like the Republicans are trying to undermine independent oversight but it's more complicated than that.

The responsibilities of the EAC are being consolidated into the Federal Elections Commission, which actually has administrative and enforcement authority anywho. We'll have to see how the FEC handles the additional responsibilities.
