Relatively speaking, the economy is a bit depressed. There's a lot of auto industry which is good when it's good, but really bad when it's bad. The next biggest part of the economy is the casino. The casino.
Downtown can be rough but it's getting sorted out with some buildings being filled up by the University - which will bring some people, money and vibrancy to the area.
I've heard it said that it's a small city with big city problems.

It's not a horrible place. There are some nice areas and lots of stuff to do. There are some very nice communities within reasonable commuting distance.

so....someone working for a major canadian corp in a town with a slightly depressed economy might do ok.
the town i live in now has ford, gm, chrysler factories in town. like 6 of them in the area. so i get the auto industry issues.
this might be an actual possiblity. if i got a transfer to the windsor office, i could get a work visa pretty easy.
this side of lake erie......that side of lake erie.....tomato.....tomaaato.

You'd probably see less lake effect snow.
And if it works out, I get to Windsor often as it is in my territory for work.

I know it's still super early, but I'm saddened that it's this close so far. I really wanted to think better of or country as a whole, but right now we fucking suck. The manufactured hate of Hillary is like 200 proof. But it can't just be that, it's also the hate of different and fear of other (and vice versa)...ignorance is too pervasive.

I'm still confident HRC wins, but I'm bummed about how narrow it seems that margin will be. Johnson is definitely making a HUGE impact if Florida. I'd like to say that that's hurting Hillary, but I can't assume anything more than half might have gone to HRC. There's a lot of disgust for Trump...just far less that I thought there would be at this point.

Total guess of course, but I imagine 3rd party votes are leeching fairly evenly from the old guard.
