Brietbart used to bag on Sweden about immigrant crimes and muslim destabilization and loss of the culture. Of course, this means people from high school email me about it and ask me how dangerous it is where I live, and I have to remind them that Switzerland is not Sweden, and my last trip to Malmo didn't seem to be particularly crime ridden. I think Brietbart have moved on to UK knife crime and German immigrant crime waves, which means now I just have to explain that I am in Europe, but not in the European Union.

The Germans I work with think his comments on the German crime wave are outrageous and pathetic.
Nah, they're still fucking that chicken.

This was covered widely in the local news. In most cases the "missing" people have left Switzerland for other countries where they have relatives. They certainly are not living here, as it is damn near impossible to get by here without proper documents.

I really, really enjoyed my time in the Netherlands. Some relatives we were visiting were a little worried about immigration, but our time there was amazing. The cycling transportation infrastructure alone was impressive.I lived in a city where 51% of the residents were of "non-dutch origin". Best place I've ever lived. Sure, some neighbourhoods sucked balls, but most of them have been notorious shitholes for nearly 100 years.
When cleaning up the attic of my appartment building I found some newspapers from the early 60's complaining about exactly the same shit as today, just wasn't any immigrants to blame then.
The Working Families Party is about as close to a progressive third party as this country has. And all they do is endorse Democrats. The Libertarians are making some headway, but don't believe in any kind of social safety net. The Green Party is just silly at this point. That said, major party voters are still convinced, wrongly, that voting for a third party candidate is not a viable option. It is, and always will be the best protest vote. Everyone should be focused right now on making sure they're registered to vote this November, and registering others to vote.
I would agree with you, if the third parties actually put in the work to build from the ground up, with state legislators, US HOR and Senate members. Some sonofabitch running for president on a 3rd party ticket with no established base is just a magnet for wasted votes. Show me a politician who cares about your protest vote, and how it affected the election, and I'll show you the election loser. It does nothing.
Disagree. I mean I completely agree that everyone has a duty to vote, and I put third party voters WAY ahead of non voters. But voting 3rd part absolutely affects election results. The people who bother to show up to vote for a third party candidate are registering their dissent. That's all. Engage the voters who stay home. They're the ones swinging the election.

Just pointing out that America has plenty of “third-parties” and one could absolutely make a case that Trump is really a third party candidate that usurped the GOP...and that’s significant part of his appeal. The same would apply to Sanders.
What @Help!I'maRock! really wants is a powerful, left-wing political movement that closely adheres to his own personal, immaculate vision of progressive values. But he doesn’t have that...so that’s a problem at the national level.
Because he is intractable.
