Oh hey so I got Lyme disease

Yay living in the northeast

I found a tick on my leg a 2 weekends ago, pulled it off and whaddayaknow it was a deer tick. Kept an eye on the spot for a few days and it developed the telltale bullseye rash.

So I went to the doc and got some antibiotics. Never really experienced any symptoms besides the bullseye rash. Had my follow up appt today and apparently I'm fine, just need to finish the meds.

Had it when I was a kid. I remember sitting in the dr office and he couldnt figure out what it was so he got out this big book and kept looking at my leg as he flipped the pages. Was pretty funny now that I think about it.

Yeah, catch it early and do the full course of antibiotics and it knocks it out. Get into the doctor early and they don’t even bother testing for it. Had it years ago and the antibiotics took it out ASAP

a friends father otoh wasn’t diagnosed for a loooong time and it did serious damage to him.

My wife and oldest daughter got it a few years ago within about 2 weeks of each other. Make sure you take all the antibiotics and you should be good.

I had a tick bite a few years ago after Mountain biking. It looked just like the black legged one that carries Lyme. I did not catch it. They gave me a single penicillin pill at Urgent Care.
