Lets see your strats!

Needs a fair amount of work, but it's a solid base that I'd put up against any decent beginner's/mid-level Strat (Squier/MiM).

My 2 "Go to" Strats:

All stock 1987 MIJ E Series System 1. This has worked it's way to the top of the pile and become my absolute favorite guitar. It plays like a dream, sounds like a proper Strat should, is bullet proof stable and is gorgeous to look at. The maple neck is a thing of absolute beauty.

The ongoing Strat-O-Various build that started life as a cheap, Indonesian 2007 Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat and has slowly morphed into a killer little player thanks to a string of steady upgrades. Next string change, it gets the Black switch plate, black Wilkinson trem and Black Schallers. The MIM pickups in this thing are fantastic, with the proper amount of bite and smoothness. The neck is fatter than I usually prefer, but it plays so well that I have really grown to love it.

How do you like the hot rail in the neck? I have one in the bridge of my green strat.

Carvin Twinblades. Only had them working briefly before my amp started acting up, then the switch went and I haven't bothered to rewire it. Just play it acoustically. I liked 'em for the brief time everything was working, but it's been a bit since I last had 'em up and running.

I like the look of that guitar but they can eat a bowl of dicks if they think I'm gonna spend $2400 plus tax on a strat not coming from a small builder.

here are some pics of my only Fender stratocaster. i used to play strats all the time and nothing else. i gigged two strat plus models relentlessly in the 90s. then one night i had to borrow my room-mate's Les Paul Studio as a back up since my back up was in the shop. the main guitar went down with a broken string during the first set. I was forced to grab the Les Paul. hit that first chord. haven't looked back since.

my favorite strat-type guitar that i've owned though is this Tyler Studio Elite. it's not for everyone, but it fits me perfectly.
