Lets see your strats!

how did that happen?

Weellll,

I got this neck from Warmoth, fully scalloped. I was kinda unimpressed with the fret work so I thought I'd let Joe Glaser have a shot at it with his plek machine. I waited for about two months and finally lost patience. I called Joe up and he was sorry for the delay but...turns out the plek machine can't do scalloped! He was in contact with the inventer of the plek (some guy in Germany IIRC) who had to write a completely different program for the plek computer to follow. After three trys he got it right and in another month I got the guitar back. Plays like a dream!

So if you have a scalloped neck and you want to get it pleked you know who to thank! That's right, ME.

I also have the blue Peavey Raptor of which I can't seem to find locate a picture.

for some reason I really dig this one in particular.

It's a 1957 reissue from 1988 – one of the early ones from the Corona plant and unbelievable quality. A few of the Custom Shop builders started out in Corona 1987-1990 and a lot of the guitars from this era are superb.

This particular one is better than many Custom Shop Strats I've played and the pickups are to die for, really chimey and with loads of clarity. When it's run through my 1976 Fender Twin, even the angels have been known to weep...

The body on my green strat is supposed to be from about that era too....it has a hugely thick coat of poly on it but it still sounds really good:
