but no. no it can't.

So the thrust from the propellor overcomes the negated wheel speed and pulls the plane forward creating the differenence in air pressure over the wings to cause lift.

I guess the nuance to consider is that the wheel speed is the wrong factor to use because it's clearly not enough to negate the forward thrust of the plane. And THAT is what most people use as the deciding factor when thinking about this puzzle and come to the wrong conclusion.

To keep the plane from moving forward you would need a headwind with a strong enough force to equal the maximum thrust of the propeller/jet. But the plane would take off anyway because the airspeed would be enough to provide lift on the wings. It would just float in the air without forward movement.

Exactly, which is NOT the same thing as being on a conveyor belt where any forward motion would take you off of the conveyor belt. The plane was clearly moving forward when it took off.

just like a STOL Bush Plane. when they give it full throttle to begin their take off, the tail comes right up before the plane moves forward.
i've seen them get off the ground in a bit over 40 FEET. shear 'thrust'....(high wing, big flaps, etc.)
