Unfortunately, I bet that's a pretty common scenario these days.

In all seriousness, most kids I see are completely over-scheduled with baseball, soccer, basketball, swimming, music lessons, martial arts, skateboarding, parkour classes (yes, seriously), etc. . . . . If anything, they don't have enough free time to just hang out with friends and figure out how to entertain themselves without adults structuring the activity.

They certainly have far more opportunities for activities than I had when I was a kid.
