I haven't been to HC in a while but..,

So did they delete the Guitar Jam forum entirely? I know, threadsurrection. Sorry.
You need to ask for access and promise that you're 18 years old or older. Here is what GJ currently looks like:

Its been pretty much killed dead to make HC more "family friendly".

I miss the old joint. Lots of fun times with a really cool group of people. I haven't been there since the whole 'opt in' thing, and I can't see any reason to go back now.

i remember motorik. did ChuckyB and Strings disappear too?
I see them both on Facebook, and they both have accounts here (as does @Motorik). @Strings74 dropped in a month or so ago to say hi. So did @2manband and @weebz. @FenderPusher was also a regular until his job blocked the site.

Some folks just don't have jobs anymore where they can sit on the internet and bullshit with us all day long anymore :embarrassed:

Even the crickets have abandoned GJ. The whole site is about dead thanks to the incompetence of the IT staff (or whichever third party they hired to do IT for them more likely).

GJ was rocking in it's heyday. But at a certain point some of the crap just got too deep and that is why I moved over here and why I like the rules here a lot more.

I miss the "give 'em enough rope" quality of GJ. Idiots had freedom to out themselves and then get butchered.

Otherwise, it's pretty much the same. Although, the last few years of GJ, there wasn't much trolling, and there wasn't much problem. We'd been hanging out with one another for a decade, generally liked one another, shared a sense of humour, and were in a groove. And we could sustain an argument/debate for days, and not have it dissolve into melodrama (I'm leaving!). And the next thread would be smooth. I miss that, too, the last two sentences.

Wasn't Motorik a mod over there? I guess his job got a lot easier as a result of the mass exodus.

Yeah.

Him, Strings, and Grits. But I think that, for the last couple of years, mods were almost exclusively for porn bombs and spam, so Motorik was able to handle things on his own.

Did Count Gourinsach (forget how to spell his name) ever come back? i think i recall him bailing out of this forum a while back.

Did Frets99 ever join this forum? He was a good dude and doesn't live too far from me.

I think the Count had a different username here....@Frets99 was here for a bit but has kinda mellowed out on the social media as well.

Had great times on HC, and it was sad how it all came crashing down. Oh well, it had kinda run its course anyway.

It helped that most people I enjoyed interacting with ended up here.

Didnt Motorik say the demise of HC was a good opportunity to take a step back from the internet?

In any case, I liked having him around.

To some extent, probably.

He was teaching in China at the time (maybe still is?), and had less free time.
