IIRC that trunk strip should just be press fit (unless someone decided to expoy it for some dopey reason) so it is usually just pulled off during painting and reinstalled later. Either way, the paint on it and the missing section is pretty wonky.
 
I agree that there are a couple issues and I'd certainly have done things a little different. If I was buying, it would definitely get some sort of frame on restoration, interior, paint, correct wheels, engine bay, etc. I think 8 is fair for the car in its current condition.
