Dabs + concentrates. The extraction process can make all kinds of concentrates like budder, shatter, taffy, sauce, etc, which start around 60% THC/30% CBD , hit within 15 min and depending on your tolerance and the size of the dab (typically between a grain of rice and a pea) will last you an hour to two. Just stay away from carts and that bullshit that's giving kids vaping disease, cut with vitamin e-oil; live rosin is what you want when you can get it - in Ohio's first year of legal cannabis sales, the price went from $120/.5g to $60-75/g. In Michigan, Colorado, California, Washington, or any other states with established dispensaries the price can drop down to $30/g.
As for using it, the easiest way to use concentrates is with a small portable pen vape, which typically has a ceramic or quartz oven you load your dabs into with a tool, then screw the top back on and take a small short puff then exhale (you don't need to hold it in like when you're smoking.) At first I'd load a tiny amount, and just take a couple of those small puffs until you can feel what the vapour feels/tastes like. It tastes COMPLETELY different than smoking... the terpenes are more present and less of the planet material so some strains can be really citrus and lime forward and other can be kinda skunky and an almost earthy, umami taste. A tiny rice-sized piece will be plenty to learn how to hit your vape and see how long the concentrates affect you... even the weaker ones are still TWICE as strong as higher THC strain flowers. I primarily vape flower (because it's cheaper) but whenever I can afford to splurge on live rosin I always do. Keep in mind it'll get a lot cheaper for you and since you're not already smoking or vaping cannabis daily your tolerance is super low.
One other edibles option is to make or buy a tincture that you'll just drop under your tongue, which will also hit reasonably fast and last not quite as long as edibles but potentially longerr than concentrates.
