Damn, the price of a car battery has really gone up!

I had a car (1996 Plymouth Breeze) where you had to remove the passenger side tire and get to the battery compartment through the wheel well. My parents had a car (2000 Pontiac Bonneville) where the battery was under the back seat. Our old Pontiac Montana Minivan had a battery where you had to remove a couple of cross members and a shroud to get to the battery.

All three of our current vehicles have easy batteries to get to.

My Dad had one of those (Breeze) when he passed away. I had to get a new battery for it so I could sell it and it drove me nuts trying to find the thing. Worst battery location ever.

I went to Advance Auto Parts. They put it in for free. I tipped the guy 5 bucks, but that's a deal. A shop would have charged me 50 bucks to do it.

Advance did the one in our minivan for free, but I had to wait about an hour and a half for them to have time.
