Apparently novelty licence plates aren't a thing anymore?

To clarify, a *vanity plate* is when you customize what is on your legal car tags for an upcharge at the secretary of state. A *novelty plate* goes on your front number and has a bumper-sticker level statement on it--"this machine eats Chevy's and s#its Fords" or "badass ladies don't drive Mercedes". They don't have to be car themed even though my two examples are.

Pretty sure getting caught in Illinois with a novelty plate would be an automatic death sentence. Just to unclarify/add confusion, in Illinois, we have vanity plates and personalized plates. A vanity plate can be all letters and you pay extra for it forever. Normal personalized plates must end in a numeral. Business personalized plates must start with a numeral. That's why my van's plates start with1. From a distance, it looks like the letter I.

If you have AI slop on your license plate then you deserve all the worst things on the road. Just based on how awful it looks alone, to say nothing of the data centers.
