A question for those who flip between Amps and Headphones with Tonex Pedal.

Firstly, I know that to use the ToneX Pedal I need to turn the IR off, and use the FX Return on the amp. I also know I'll lose the bits of the model that have the cab.

The question I have is adjusting presets. Rather than turn the presets off globally, should I duplicate the presets, turn the cab off on that preset, and fine tune it? Or, is just turning to cab off globally using the preset normally good enough?

I have a feeling I am going to want to create separate presets, but I am curious how others handle it?

You could create separate presets for headphones vs fx return into amp. I suppose another way to do it would be to use an eq in your patches for headphones and then turn the cab sim off and eq off when going into the fx return of your amp.

I use my ToneX One a bit different. All of my ToneX patches are cab sim off. I feed my ToneX One into an HX Stomp. I have headphone patches with cab sims saved on the HX Stomp. I have patches on my HX Stomp without cab sims for going into my Fryette Power Station PS2 amp into various real cabs.

I use an Airstep TX edition foot controller to change amp patches on the ToneX. The HX is for FX patches, plus cab sims when using headphones.
