Why do I get the sense Paul Gilbert tells the Ibanez builders to do stuff just to see what will happen?
I bet you're not far off the mark.
I love this guitar, though, because it's PG's and it's so ridiculous.

I don’t get the Paul Gilbert love. I don’t necessarily have a problem with wankery, but I do have a problem with boring. His playing is the musical equivalent of an overlong Abe Simpson monologue on cocaine.

I think a lot of the love for Paul Gilbert is even though he has technical prowess, he's genuinely enthusiastic about playing music and about guitar in general. He's a kinda goofy, genuine guy that can play guitar really, really fast and for a lot of fans that is enough.

I like those for unknown reasons. One may be this video, which may be the greatest Paul Gilbert video of all time. Of all time!!!

He’s very funny, and one of the listenable shredder guys. I love his covers. They are always great.

So he’s basically playing for an audience equivalent to people who don’t like basketball but like the Harlem Globetrotters or people who don’t like pool but enjoy trick shot exhibitions?
