I’d pay to see that.Groovy wang thang! Don't really know why it strikes me in that way. But it does. Sure, why not? I would try it.
I bet you're not far off the mark. Why do I get the sense Paul Gilbert tells the Ibanez builders to do stuff just to see what will happen?
I don’t get the Paul Gilbert love. I don’t necessarily have a problem with wankery, but I do have a problem with boring. His playing is the musical equivalent of an overlong Abe Simpson monologue on cocaine.
He’s very funny, and one of the listenable shredder guys. I love his covers. They are always great.I think a lot of the love for Paul Gilbert is even though he has technical prowess, he's genuinely enthusiastic about playing music and about guitar in general. He's a kinda goofy, genuine guy that can play guitar really, really fast and for a lot of fans that is enough.
There's nothing tasteful about it though.
That's the point. The Gilbert model is ridiculous enough that the Stanley model, which is in fact tasteless, or at the very least gaudy, looks tasteful in comparison.![]()

Your opinion is incorrect.I don’t get the Paul Gilbert love. I don’t necessarily have a problem with wankery, but I do have a problem with boring. His playing is the musical equivalent of an overlong Abe Simpson monologue on cocaine.
