I generally don't post about famous people passing, but I am a Sonny Rollins fan, especially the albums he did with Jim Hall

I have mostly heard the stuff he did with Miles (which is amazing). Just bought Plus 4 on vinyl and hope to have a working turntable by the weekend so I can listen to it.

He played with so many jazz greats and recorded dozens of his own albums over his long career, so this rabbit hole may keep me busy for a long while.

I came on to say something about his being the last surviving (until recently) member of that group portrait "A Great Day in Harlem," but I see Andrew beat me to it. Huge loss.
