Anyone here day trade Cryptocurrency?

For those who don't have it all figured out like some members do and you have some curiosities:

https://www.connectbit.com/blockchain-applications/

I like how this article touts everything that blockchain tech can do including GO TO SPACE because you could use Bitcoin to buy your way onto an as yet non-existent space tourism flight. We truly are living in wondrous times.

Pardon me as I go use blockchain to fill up all those empty hotel rooms I own.

can you rub blockchain together and make fire? seal a leaky faucet connection with it/, use it to spread peanut butter/ I mean jeebus it sounds like it's more neato than a swiss army knife

You know what your approach to this topic reminds me of? Someone being told about electricity before it became commonplace. "What? It is going to do all of that and I can't even see it?" It's quite amusing.

Furthermore, for someone who knows so little about blockchain, you seem highly invested in arguing against it. Does this have some connection to the '2nd hobby' thread?

The bookings will likely be done on blockchain.

Deed transfers/real estate purchases will be done on blockchain.

The only reason I’m in this thread is nobody else is. I’m just trying to be a helper and help your thread along.

Well, in that case, thanks. I mean there is always use for stupid stuff like you are 'contributing'. It serves as a counterpoint to the intelligent stuff and then hopefully the people in the middle can see that leaning in the same direction as you are is not the wise choice.

By the way...do you know that they can put electricity in these little things that you can carry around? They are called batteries. They come in pretty handy.

Some companies using blockchain:

Who is right : VISA, HSBC, BARCLAYS, MERSK, DELTA, SIEMENS, SHELL, DHL, Pfizer (and more by the day) or the dope smoker who doesn't even know what a blockchain is?

That's a rhetorical question.

I am disregarding the rhetoric and will answer. the dopesmoker is always the right answer

On an investor level it's no different from trading stocks and shares.

You don't need to understand the ins and outs of AI, SEO and targeted algorithms to invest in Google or Apple...

Amazon looking to accept bitcoin by the end of the year along with ETH, ADA and bitcoin cash sometime in 2022.

That's pretty cool.

That's massive for the future of it.

UK Chancellor has made some noises about accepting Bitcoin more widely this week...

Binance (in the UK at least) are getting pressured from the powers that be regarding regulation. My bank has actually started limiting transfers to them which is bullshit, if I'm campus, have done due diligence and I'm happy that it's not a scam / illegal I should be able to do whatever I want with my own money. To that end it's interesting that they're only being hassled now after years of trading and once they jump through the formalities and legal hoops I think it'll be all systems go for it being more widely accepted and utilised in the UK.

I just want to go on record saying I am proud to have known all you bitcoiners before you were Millionaires :)

Who says anything about becoming millionaires?

Having my disposable income doing something potentially better than getting fucked with inflation is why I'm putting money into it.

For practically a decade every time I went into my bank I'd get the "we can help your money work for you better." The options being a marginally less shit interest rate in some sort of ISA, letting some douche on London or Hong Kong gamble with my money or becoming a by to let landlord.

I can only assume these massive companies are assuming the value of it is going to drop over time :embarrassed:

The only thing massive about Quiznos is the amount of diarrhea one of their sandwiches will give you.

I agree with your point however.

There was one in Edinburgh I never ever went to. One opened in Glasgow for about 6 months then disappeared. They both looked shit even from the outside.

My point remains, these companies are 'buying in' so to speak at the very least on the assumption that the value will remain constant but more likely, hoping that it sky rockets.

This is the way it was explained to me: imagine if keeping your car idling 24/7 produced solved Sudokus you could trade for heroin.

That's amusing even to an enthusiast but the car idling thing isn't an issue if the energy isn't generated by burning petroleum and the heroin tie-in is old from when people thought "only criminals will use that".

What? Criminals never used suitcases of cash? Come on...anyone who is against crypto due to criminal activity is extremely ignorant of the subject.

But at any rate...I still laughed when I first saw that on Facebook a few months back.

I just want to go on record saying I am proud to have known all you bitcoiners before you were Millionaires :)

I will definitely alert you with a quoted post when I pass $1 million.
