WTF is wrong with people, Thanksgiving edition

The food served for Thanksgiving is nothing more than a vessel to get gravy into your body. Turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing are the only essentials that aren't dessert.
My father, coming from the South, felt that gravy was a major food group that should be served at every meal, including breakfast. I have never liked gravy. Odd how that works.

My sister calls gravy "meat syrup" when she serves stuffing waffles (throw stuffing into a waffle iron) the morning after Thanksgiving.

I discovered stuffing waffles about 4 years ago. They are so amazing

I fucking hate turkey. The best family Thanksgiving I had was the year my sister cooked cornish game hens instead of turkey.

I love turkey. I get a roasted breast from Safeway once a week.
This year I had thanksgiving off,but I picked up the day from a co-worker.
I have no idea what I'll eat. They will have lamb chops in our restaurant. That might be dinner for me

BTW, you guys are celebrating the slaughter of my people.

BTW, I worked for a native tribe for almost 14 years and everyone ate Thanksgiving dinner. The next day was an official holiday where they celebrated in honor of their tribe. We used to call it anti-thanksgiving.

Yep, my native family will laugh at you if you call them Native Americans. They call themselves Indians.

I searched Fox5 for this poll and couldn't find it. It might just be a Russian troll making an infographic to enrage Facebook users who think someone is going to take away their meat. Graphics look a bit dodgy to me.

Fox News, their father network, reported on a Harris Poll on this subject a few weeks ago. But it had these very different results. One, turkey is at the bottom with 19%. And even then it only means it is their least favorite thing; not that they will ditch it.

Nah, it was on last night's news. It's Fox5 in DC. They do a poll every night so not sure how long they stay up on the website.

Edit: The link is here, but it's a different poll now. https://www.fox5dc.com/instapoll

Let's stop pretending that there is any deep meaning to Thanksgiving. It's a fucking harvest festival. Every civilization (old world and new) celebrated the harvest with feasting like this. The weird iconography we have attached to ours (US) is of very recent origin, and based on utter bullshit.

Somehow, that is so appropriate...

So is that a "No" on the turkey then?

It always amazes me how many white people don’t know this. They think ignorant people are the ones who don’t say “native American”. Clearly they have never said “native American” within earshot of an Indian.
