What would you do if you didnt HAVE to do anything?

Let’s say you could maintain your current lifestyle but never again have to work. How would you pass the time?

So basically retirement? Retirement is on my radar...maybe 5 or 6 years away depending on how f'd up the economy gets between now and then, and how the 401k looks.

Travel is top of the list, along with spending more time on hobbies; woodworking, guitar/music, home repairs & upgrades. That oughta take me to the grave.

More of the fun stuff I'm doing (gardens, cooking, music, building) less of the not fun stuff (waking up early, paperwork). I'd finally get a kayak, and probably a dog, neither of which I have time for right now.

I'm currently on my 2 and a half month summer vacation, so I'd probably do what I'm doing now, but forever. Play with my dog, play guitar, read, binge tv shows. Go to a pub about once a week and hang out with buddies and stay out way, way too late. Kinda basic bitch stuff.

Probably move out of this shithole country. And then sit around all day reading books and playing guitar.

That's my plan pretty much, but I'm going to do lots of photography as well.

I retired early at 53, three years ago, and I absolutely LOVE it. My plans to move to Europe got put on hold for a few reasons, but I'm still planning to move to Spain in a year.

If money was no object I'd probably wear a 'phantom of the opera' mask and spend my time trying to entice Laura Brannigan into some kind of ballet dancing-themed orgy.

A lottery style one - buy a yacht and sail around nice places forever.

Normal. Pretty much same as I'm doing in the school holidays - try to get away somewhere nice now and again, lots of long walks / plays with Lola, frequent pub visits, try to get better at golf, I'd probably get even more into my cooking too.

First time I saw something about the "immersive Van Gogh" exhibit, it was at some museum in France and first thing I thought was, I wonder if I could apply for a phantom of the opera position there.

I’d get a lot more music stuff done. If we’re talking that I currently make what I’m making now adjusted annually for inflation without having to work, I’d likely spend a fair amount of time abroad living in different places for long stretches of time.

I’d also likely wind up taking a part-time job in a bar, restaurant, or retail just for something to do. I get bored easily and require context/experience/social interaction for various creative and intellectual processes to keep going so I’d likely need to give myself a little reason to leave the house and do some minor toil.

Take naps
watch tv
cook more
hike more
travel around the neighboring states dirtbag style (on the cheap)
practice tina burrito fusion cooking
yard work
walk the dog more
take in a movie at the theater once in a while
clean the house
purge excess junk and minimalize more
look though old photo albums

*edit* and for the most part other than work I really don't have to do anything now. So weekends are basically mini versions of what I imagine my retirement years would be assuming I don't have to work in a Jeff bezos labor camp when the apocalypse happens.

Move out of the country, most likely to Switzerland.
Build stuff.
Garden a lot, like try to grow as much of my food as possible.
Cook
Raise chickens and goats
Hike
Ski
