Great song!

I've never heard this before. I love Ella Fitzgeralds performance on this, & it also makes me realize that many big band jazz composers wrote very difficult trumpet parts, due to the high register.

I'd really like to hear a baroque trumpet in the context of a big band, as they tended to be naturally higher in register, & did not overpower everything else dynamically, at least with the instruments of that era.

Yeah, this is the most "balls to the wall" vocal performance I've ever heard from her; usually her voice is so controlled, beautiful and romantic. But man, does she ever just let it all hang out on this one! And it's flat-out amazing.

IMHO, she's the greatest of all female jazz singers. I love Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington and others ... but there's something approaching perfection in Ella's voice and delivery.
