Racial slurs are sexy.

Having been born several decades before you, Eskimo was the only term used by people not in the tribe for a significant portion of my life. Not having read a fucking book on the update hardly makes me an intentional racial slur-er. Also different tribes treat those issues differently. My Objibwa relatives still call themselves “Indians”. Maybe you could lecture them too, having lived a fraction as long as them. They are also erroneously called Chippewa, but don’t get their political panties in a twist about it. Get a clue that the world didn’t start when you were born.

It seems like he was just giving you a heads up that 'Eskimo' is racist. And did not mention "Indian" or Chippewa. Indian is an official term used by governments, academia, and activist groups and not generally considered racist except by people unaware of that. Eskimo isn't used like that that I know of.

Not that this belongs here in a thread that doesn't really need edgelordism.

I am a Native American Indian myself, have every right to say that word, and we generally don’t have any problem with anyone else using it. It’s right there on our ID cards.

Yeah, whatever. This isn’t a new thing. You’re 30+ years behind the times on this one. Be a grown-up and simply acknowledge that you’ll stop using it, instead of having a baby tantrum.

ok a few more :embarrassed:

Really the only thing good on the smooth jazz station since like 1980-whatever.

Most of her 80s stuff is too smooth even for me but Love Deluxe onwards, really good. Plus I think she's the only person whose level of gorgeouness inspires this mixture of awe and incredulity in me. Like WTF, lady?
