I know there are people who are convinced that "heavy guitars sound better", or "the heavier Les Pauls are the BEST Les Pauls", etc ad nauseum.
At this point in my life, I'm just fucking DONE with heavy guitars. Fuck 'em. I don't care if it's vintage spec or whatever... if a guitar is really fucking heavy, I'm not going to play it as often, and it is then less useful to me. Period. End of story. Actually, it's anything.... PA Speakers, Amps, Vehicles... If turning out of a parking lot feels like I'm destroying 1000 miles of tire wear and buring an entire T-Rex while doing it, then it's difficult to enjoy the trip.
I think vintage guitars has more to do with OLD GROWTH WOOD that was abundant at the time, even though they were often being cranked out of an assembly line with not-that-precise methods of construction. There were likely as many dogs coming out of the factory as now days, but those are the ones that ended up smashed by an 80's band, or someone like me installed a Floyd Rose in it and played it until the headstock flew off. The best ones from then are the best, most coveted ones today.... and there's no reason that a precise, specifically made PRS, Suhr, or some other top builder's guitar can't become the be-all-end-all for someone today and be someone's drool obsession in 50 years (other than they're pretty fucking expensive).

Kinda sad because that was a lovely piece. But I can sympathize, my Tele and ASAT make my shoulder hurt, and I don’t think they weigh as much as that one did. The new PRS has sold me on the appeal of a light guitar.

Hey that's cool! Where does the other front strap attach? To the main?
By itself you need a big upper horn, but you can add what they call a tension strap for strap button attachment. They recommend strap locks too.
