Well... that's the nicest amp I've ever owned... not a Pawn Shop find this time, it's from Craigslist. I went and picked it up yesterday and now it is

at my domicile.

It's a Carr Impala in excellent condition. A 1x12 44 watt hand wired amp based on a mid-60s blackface Bassman. It sounds absolutely incredible (I tried it out in the guy's garage). Even with the high wattage the master volume works really well, so I can get super great tones at apartment levels. Plus I think it looks beautiful. and it came with a slip cover!

He only wanted $1350 for it... these are $3,000 new nowadays and this one really is in great shape... well, what do you think??

You scored a deal on a Carr on Craigslist? Where the fuck do you live? The only great amp deals I scored on Craigslist were Blackstars.

he had it on there for $1475 for a week or so and I was like damn, that's a good price. When he dropped it to $1350 I was like well I'm sure someone will get it. Then I was like why shouldn't that someone be me?

I told him it was a good price and he said he just needed the room (he seemed to be pretty financially comfortable) and wanted it to move. We both lamented how slow CL/FB Marketplace have been for selling lately. I list (and see) stuff all the time at what I consider to be really good prices and it will sit for weeks. Nobody's buying. Thanks, Mamdani!

Stuff is sitting for weeks or months here, too. There’s an SG I want to buy that’s been up for eight weeks. I told myself I won’t buy it until I sell some of my shit but my stuff isn’t moving. I may drop two instruments off at the local store for them to sell on consignment.

Congrats! That’s a killer amp! HNAD! :thu:

Years ago, I went to see Hot Tuna play live at a cozy venue. Jorma Kaukonen was playing Epiphone guitars through a Carr amp (can’t recall the model). Those were absolutely some of the best live guitar sounds I have ever heard.

Shit, that’s a great amp. And that’s a sweet deal. Friend of mine with a crippling amp habit has a Rambler that he and I used a bunch on recordings our band and it’s a great sounding thing. I imagine this is just as sweet.
